Alternative Energies
Traditionally people have depended on fire wood for fuel. The consequences are severe deforestation, soil degradation and high levels of respiratory illness. We show people how to turn every day objects into biogas digesters and solar generators. This provides them with alternative sources of fuel, which means that people are less dependent on chopping down trees for fuel. Excess energy produced can also be used to generate income in a variety of ways. Once deforestation has been reduced, the surrounding land can then be reinvigorated through our tree planting programme. We show people the importance of trees in reducing soil erosion, and encourage them to grow species which can be used sustainably for a number of purposes.
