Education
'Haller is not about exercise books and building schools, but about teaching a new generation about living life in balance with the environment on which they depend.' Edward Oately, MBE
Education underpins everything that we do. In all its programmes, Haller works to teach and inspire a new generation of ecological entrepreneurs. In addition, each community we work with has a community school that we support. Haller also runs the Nguuni Education Centre, which is home to Kenya’s first free children’s library. It won the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation / Goethe-Institut Maktaba Award for Best Community Library in 2010 and came second in 2011. More than 1500 children come to the Education Centre each month for workshops, literacy and numeracy classes, youth clubs and more.
