Latest News: Will Bayley who currently ranks as the World No 1 paralympian in table tennis and who is Team GB's hope for a gold this summer agrees to support Haller's lime green lace appeal.

When faced with the challenge of raising money to build a community with Haller, they decided to pick up on the success of the "pink ribbon" breast cancer awareness campaign and the Comic Relief "Red Nose" fundraiser, by selling green shoe laces.
Targeted initially at school age children, the idea was that they would buy a pair of laces for £1 and then wear them (especially prominently at Sports Day!) to show their support for Haller. The green of the laces would be a nod to Haller's environmental roots, but the shoe laces were also, for the children, a way to show that they were tied -- emotionally as well as financially -- to the children in the community they were helping to create in Africa.

Since the Lime Green Lace Appeal's inception, Sevenoaks Prep has raised more than £12,000 with their "Lime Green Laces can Build a School" campaign. You can read about their remarkable fundraising in this BBC article. And the really good news is that 80p from every pair of laces sold goes directly to the communities they are supporting in Kenya.
Now the Lime Green Lace appeal has taken off!! Other schools like Holmewood House and The Beacon have taken on the challenge. This year we are also selling green wrist bands (learning lessons from awareness raising organisations like Lance Armstrong's, Livestrong, whose yellow wrist bands are sported the world over.)
And yes, even adults are getting in on the fun! Our competition for best photo on Facebook has had Mums and Dads dressing up the family dog and finding creative ways to weave laces into crazy hairstyles…If you don't believe us, just check THIS out!!
Will you support us this year? Order a box of laces for your school now! info@haller.org.uk
