Our Work
Our work is based on 50 years pioneering research by Dr. Rene Haller, who made his name by regenerating a barren limestone quarry into a flourishing ecosystem, now known as the Haller Park. Haller Park is recognised by the Eden Project as 1 of the 10 most effective ecological restoration projects in the world.
Haller uses this model for environmental regeneration to bring water and food security to subsistence farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa. We work in partnership with rural communities in Kenya, typically over a 5 year period, to provide them with the means and knowledge to live sustainably.
Haller supports rural communities with 6 integrated, holistic programmes in:
- Water harvesting & land rehabilitation
- Farmer training
- Health
- Education
- Alternative Energy
- Nano-enterprise
Haller's innovative urban slum garden applies a similar model for sustainable living to an urban context. Click on any of the bullet points above for more information, and watch our 2 minute introductory video below.
