Family Farming Knowledge Platform  (FFKP)

Family Farming Knowledge Platform was launched in June 2015 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to collate digitised information on family farming from all over the world.

Through this platform, Haller is able to learn and improve its own agricultural models as well as share the practices, techniques, research and learning opportunities which it has discovered through its projects. FFKP also creates a space for like-minded groups working in the agricultural sector, sparking partnership opportunities for organisations to work towards shared goals.

In 2020 the platform connected Haller and Fundatia ADEPT, a biodiversity conservation and rural development NGO based in Saschiz, Romania. Thanks to the FFKP platform, Haller has since entered into a partnership with Fundatia ADEPT to scale their Haller Farmers app and reach Fundatia ADEPT’s audiences across Eastern Europe. Haller has successfully replicated and adapted the Haller Farmers open source code to develop a ‘sister’ app for Romania. This has expanded the impact of Haller’s work and has provided Eastern European farmers with greater access to vital digital farming and welfare information.
